Job Title: 2nd Line Support Engineer (Contract)

Location: Remote

Contract Type: 2–3 Month Contract

Working Hours: 10am - 7pm

Day Rate: £250–£300 per day Outside IR35 (depending on experience)

Start Date: Wednesday/Thursday next week

The Opportunity

We're working with a fast-paced R&D software business looking to hire a contract 2nd Line Support Engineer to provide technical support across their European operations while they recruit permanent staff. With a major reimaging project scheduled and a busy summer ahead, this is a great short-term opportunity for a skilled support professional to make an immediate impact.

You will join a collaborative, technically capable team supporting a modern Microsoft environment.

The Role

You will be the primary contact for second-line issues, supporting technical teams and end users across Europe. Your responsibilities include day-to-day support, system troubleshooting, and contributing to a high-profile laptop reimaging project in July.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Providing 2nd line support across a Microsoft 365 and Windows environment
  • Administering and troubleshooting M365 back-end systems
  • Supporting Windows 10 to 11 reimaging activities
  • Working with Microsoft Intune
  • Managing support tickets and providing remote assistance
  • Participating in a large-scale laptop refresh for 600 devices
The Person

We're seeking a proactive, personable support engineer with strong technical fundamentals and the confidence to work independently remotely.

Requirements
  • Strong experience in a 2nd Line Support role
  • Proven expertise in Microsoft 365 administration
  • Solid knowledge of Windows 10/11 and reimaging processes
  • Hands-on experience with Intune (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Availability to work 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM IST to coordinate with global teams
  • Your own laptop and reliable internet connection
