Job description

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced, customer-focused 2nd Line Support Engineer to join our clients IT team. You will be responsible for providing advanced technical support, focusing on Microsoft-centric environments, troubleshooting complex IT issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network connectivity problems.
  2. Resolve technical issues efficiently and escalate complex problems to the appropriate IT personnel when necessary.
  3. Assist with software installations, upgrades, and patch management, including Microsoft Office and antivirus software.
  4. Manage user accounts, email accounts, and access permissions in Active Directory, Office 365, Group Policies and other relevant systems.
  5. Maintain detailed documentation of support tickets, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the helpdesk system.
  6. Monitoring and enforcing cybersecurity policies, including user access controls and data protection.
  7. Managing day-to-day operational tasks independently from home.

Required Skills & Experience

  1. At least 5 years of experience in an IT support role.
  2. Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 suite (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online).
  3. Experience of Azure Cloud Services (Azure AD, Azure Backup).
  4. Ability to support remote users, and Mac & Windows environments.
  5. Excellent problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
  6. Excellent communication skills and clear documentation practices.
  7. A customer service-oriented approach to IT support.
