Job Title: 2nd Grade Math and Science Teacher
Reports To: Lower School Division Head
Position Type: Full-Time / Exempt

Job Summary:
The 2nd Grade Math and Science Teacher plays a vital role in a private school community by delivering dynamic, standards-aligned instruction in math and science while nurturing the intellectual, social, and emotional growth of each student. This educator is expected to integrate creativity, critical thinking, and a love for learning into a warm, structured classroom environment that reflects the mission and values of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement daily math and science lessons that align with the school’s academic standards and philosophy.
  • Encourage hands-on learning through experiments, projects, and inquiry-based activities.
  • Assess and monitor student progress using a variety of formative and summative tools.
  • Maintain consistent and professional communication with parents, administrators, and colleagues.
  • Foster a positive, respectful classroom environment rooted in high expectations and individualized support.
  • Incorporate appropriate technology and resources to enhance instruction.
  • Participate in school-wide activities, professional development, and community-building initiatives.
  • Uphold the school’s mission, values, and traditions in all aspects of teaching and community involvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field (required).
  • Valid teaching certification.
