Job summary

An established industry player in maritime operations is seeking a dedicated Electro-Technical Officer to join their small, specialized team. This role involves ensuring the operational safety and efficiency of vessels through the maintenance and repair of electrical systems, communication equipment, and automation controls. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in shipboard experience, possess relevant certifications, and demonstrate excellent teamwork and safety management skills. Qualifications

  • Minimum 24-36 months of shipboard experience as an Electro Technical Officer.
  • STCW Certificate of Competency and Basic Training Certificates required.

  • Work with the Electro-Technical Officers on routine testing and repairs.

Job description

2nd ETO (Cruise) – Worldwide

The Electro-Technical Team is a small dedicated team whose responsibilities include monitoring all electrical equipment and systems aboard the vessels. This includes power generation, control systems, radio communications, and electronic navigation aids to maximize the operational safety and efficiency of the vessel.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Work diligently with the Staff Electro-Technical Officer and the Electro-Technical Officers in the execution of the maintenance, repairs, and routine testing of:

  • Electrical and electronic equipment
  • Communication systems, entertainment systems, and selected IT systems assigned
  • Automation and control systems
  • Electrical machinery and auxiliary systems in the Engine Room and Bridge
  • Cooperation in repairs of the Galley and laundry equipment managed by the facility department

Minimum Requirements

  • Certificate of Competency STCW reg: III/6
  • Basic Training Certificates as per STCW standard
  • Minimum 24-36 months of shipboard experience on a cruise ship as an Electro Technical officer
  • Electro-Technical Engineer (Bachelor or Master’s degree) preferred Technical training
  • English language proficiency
  • Strong focus on ship safety management
  • Ability to work well with a team
