Upton Mill is a welcoming care home that provides expert 24-hour residential, nursing, dementia, and respite care for up to 64 elderly residents. As a Second Chef, you will work as part of a small kitchen team to serve delicious, well-balanced, and nutritious meals that our residents will love. You will provide a high-quality food service to support our residents, whilst being responsive to their needs and contributing to their overall wellbeing. Working closely with our Head Chef, you will have the opportunity to deliver restaurant standard food without the split shifts and long weekends.

About you

Working as a Second Chef at Porthaven Care Homes, you will strive to deliver person-centred hospitality of the highest standards and you will manage the day-to-day running of the kitchen and hospitality teams when our Head Chef is not on shift. You must have experience of working in a commercial kitchen environment, ideally within a care home setting, but this is not essential. You should hold a City and Guilds/NVQ (or equivalent) and be confident conducting kitchen duties, including catering for special dietary needs.

The successful candidate will be subject to the provision of satisfactory references and a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and must be authorised to work in the United Kingdom. Candidates must also provide evidence of a full covid-19 vaccination.
