MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The purpose of your role will be:

  1. To deputise for the Subject Coordinator, assisting in leading the creation and establishment of outstanding provision within the subject area.
  2. To be accountable for student progress and development in the subject area across KS3, KS4, and post 16, including meeting achievement targets.
  3. To ensure high standards of teaching and learning across the subject area.
  4. To provide a broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated curriculum.
  5. To ensure all policies and procedures are implemented consistently.
  6. To ensure effective tutor programmes and support tutors in their roles.
  7. To manage and deploy staff, resources, and finances effectively.
  8. To lead literacy development within the subject area.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Operational and strategic planning, including curriculum development and resource management.
  • Staff development, recruitment, and team management.
  • Monitoring student outcomes and maintaining accurate data.
  • Pastoral responsibilities, including being a form tutor.
  • Teaching and role modeling.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
  • Have at least one year's teaching experience.
  • Proven success in raising achievement.
  • High ICT skills and experience with technology to enhance achievement.
  • Experience in curriculum development and literacy/numeracy strategies.
  • Experience with Assessment for Learning and Learning to Learn strategies.
  • Willingness to use coaching for professional development.
  • Ability to implement strategies to improve Teaching and Learning.
