Do you thrive on inspiring young entrepreneurs and future business leaders? A School in Essex is seeking an enthusiastic 2i/c Business Studies to join their department full-time from September 2025.
This is a permanent position with TLR 2b, ideal for someone ready to take on middle leadership and support the Head of Department in driving standards, supporting curriculum development, and mentoring staff.
You'll be teaching Business Studies across KS4 and KS5, helping students understand key commercial concepts while also contributing to strategic planning and departmental leadership. Key Responsibilities
Deliver Business Studies lessons across KS4 and KS5
Assist the Head of Department in curriculum planning, assessment, and resource development
Lead on specific areas such as data tracking, interventions, or enrichment
Support and mentor colleagues within the department
Monitor pupil progress and contribute to raising attainment
Foster real-world business thinking and enterprise within the curriculum
Contribute to the wider life of the school through events and extra-curricular activities
Qualifications and Experience
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Strong experience teaching Business Studies in secondary settings
Knowledge of current business education frameworks and qualifications
Proven track record of strong outcomes or impact in your subject
Ability to inspire and engage students at KS4 and KS5
Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
Experience or interest in departmental leadership responsibilities
