Job description

Job title: 3rd Line Senior Network Engineer

Location: Bracknell or Basingstoke

Salary: £55k plus 3% bonus

This role is worked over 2 different shifts: 8am - 4pm or 10am - 6pm.

Candidates for this role must be willing and eligible to go through SC clearance.

Job description:

Providing operational support to a large enterprise network that runs 24/7 across two data centres and remote offices throughout the UK. You will collaborate with the rest of the team to maintain on premise networks to support BAU activities, perform network configuration changes, upgrades and liaise with third parties and other internal teams as well as our end customer.

This role is working with cutting edge technology on National Critical Infrastructure on projects of national importance. Mainly a Juniper environment, pre-existing experience isn't essential but rather advantageous. Cisco Engineers can be trained if eager and willing.

Your transferable skills and experience:
  1. Hands-on experience in troubleshooting enterprise networks
  2. Solid understanding of IP routing (BGP, OSPF, static routing, HSRP, VRF, tunneling protocols)
  3. Solid understanding of Layer 2 technologies (VLANs, port-security, 802.1X, spanning-tree)
  4. Experience with firewalls - Cisco Firepower, Cisco ASA and related features (ASDM, ACLs, IPSEC VPNs)
  5. Experience working with Cisco Catalyst switches, Cisco Nexus switches, Cisco ISR and ASR routers, and Cisco ISE
  6. Understanding of network-level encryption
  7. Strong experience with Juniper leaves, spines, and switches
  8. F5 Load Balancers
  9. Cisco ISE Appliance
Desirable:
  1. Solid understanding and working knowledge of core routing and switching at CCNP level
  2. Catapans
  3. Juniper Apstra
