Job description

We welcome enthusiastic and highly motivated optometrists with an interest in paediatrics to apply for the opportunity to be part of the Orthoptic department at Barnsley Hospital. The post would commence as soon as possible.

This essential role involves refraction, fundus & media checks on a predominantly paediatric caseload. You will work closely with Orthoptists and paediatric ophthalmologists.

The post is ideally to cover clinics on a Monday and Thursday, but the days could be negotiable.

Main duties of the job

This role involves refraction, fundus & media checks on a predominantly paediatric caseload. You will work closely with Orthoptists and paediatric ophthalmologists.

Currently based at Barnsley Hospital, the department is relocating to HOTH, Alhambra in Barnsley town centre in late 2025.
