Job Title: Cyber Security Analyst

Location: Aberdeen

We’re looking for a motivated and capable Cyber Security Analyst to join our team in Aberdeen. In this role, you’ll help identify, assess, and report on cyber risks, playing a key part in strengthening our overall security posture. You’ll bring a proactive mindset and a solid grounding in security practices, with the ability to deliver second-line assurance activities that support both day-to-day operations and project work. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the business and with third-party partners to ensure we’re managing cyber risks effectively and meeting regulatory requirements. What you’ll do
  1. Support IS in delivering secure, reliable, and safe IS operations in collaboration with the Project Team, Operations, and IS Security team.
  2. Define IS Security requirements across vendors, project teams, and the wider IS team to meet security standards.
  3. Research and implement security solutions for complex applications and system integrations.
  4. Support the full lifecycle of security tools and services, from design to operation.
  5. Build strong relationships with other IS and business functions.
  6. Establish and monitor controls through formal governance mechanisms.
  7. Help IS Security achieve compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
  8. Conduct cyber risk assessments, including those involving third-party suppliers.
  9. Apply threat modeling principles to identify security risks and mitigations.
  10. Support and improve cyber incident management processes.
  11. Contribute to operational cybersecurity projects.
What to bring
  1. Experience working across geographies and time zones, with ability to communicate security goals (preferred).
  2. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and execution skills (essential).
  3. Strong cybersecurity experience supported by industry certifications (e.g., CySA+, Security+) and risk management knowledge (essential).
  4. Experience with cybersecurity tools like SIEM, EDR, NIDS, etc. (essential).
  5. Self-motivated with a proactive attitude (essential).
  6. Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences (essential).
  7. Experience with Cyber Security KPI monitoring (preferred).
  8. Experience engaging third-party security specialists (preferred).
  9. Understanding of data security, governance, and controls (essential).
  10. Experience with cloud security solutions and threat modeling (preferred).
  11. Knowledge of security frameworks like NIST CSF, Mitre ATT&CK (essential).
