Phlebotomist – Holland & Barrett, Leicester – (Job Ref: 25/PBLC)

Our staff are at the heart of everything we do and achieve. We have an exciting new career opportunity for a phlebotomist within our clinic in a Holland and Barrett store in Leicester.

Location: Within a Holland and Barrett store in Leicester. Exact location is TBC.

Contract Offered: Full-time, permanent

Working Hours / Shifts: 40 hours per week, across 5 days, including some weekends.

For this position, as you may be in contact with live blood samples, you must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B or be able to get it following a successful interview stage. In line with Care Quality Commission guidelines, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

What does the Phlebotomist role involve?

This role is responsible for ensuring customers have an excellent experience from the moment they enter our clinic, taking blood samples from both private and corporate clients. This is a varied role that may also include the following responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive client appointments, including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurements, and data entry into our Patient Information Systems (PIS).
  2. Demonstrate sensitive communication to ensure client understanding and consent.
  3. Maintain accurate records in PIS, uploading all relevant documentation.
  4. Represent the company professionally at offsite events and appointments.
  5. Engage in upselling and cross-selling at our private health clinic.
  6. Proactively drive sales and exceed targets.
  7. Complete company forms, specimen labelling, and laboratory test order forms accurately.
  8. Demonstrate high IT literacy in order to manage various software systems and daily tasks.

Essential criteria:
  1. Previous Phlebotomy experience and certificate or equivalent training.
  2. Confident using IT programmes.
  3. Flexibility with working hours, as required by the business inclusive of evenings and weekends.
  4. Exemplary customer service skills and experience.
  5. Ability to manage existing clientele and generate new clientele at the same time.
  6. Valid UK driving license.

Desirable:
  1. Experience in a private healthcare setting.
  2. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft packages.
  3. Confidence and experience working internal / external events.
  4. Sales / Retail experience.
