Job summary

McKeevers Chemists in Newry is seeking proactive Dispensary Assistants to join our fast-paced community pharmacy. You will assist in dispensing medications, file prescriptions, and help customers with health products while upholding accuracy.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Willingness to learn and develop clinical knowledge.
• Previous dispensing experience is desirable but not required if you are motivated to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist in dispensing medications with precision and care, filing prescriptions and processing labels.
• Provide excellent customer service and advise on health products and services.
• Handle telephone inquiries and refer callers to the pharmacist when needed.
• Collaborate with pharmacists to maintain a smooth workflow.
• Keep the dispensary clean and organized and manage stock rotation.
• Operate the till and handle cash transactions.

Location: Newry Positions Available: Full-time and Part-time Please note: Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be available to work weekday daytime shifts. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in dispensing medications with precision and care- accepting prescriptions for filing, gathering and processing labels using IT systems
• Customer Care: Provide top-notch service, creating a welcoming environment for our valued customers- informing customers on all health and associated products including over the counter medication, minor ailments and services offered by the Pharmacy.
• Provide exceptional customer service and support- Handling telephone enquiries and giving advice while referring callers to the pharmacist when necessary.
• Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure a seamless workflow
• Maintain a clean and organised dispensary environment- operating efficient stock control to include ordering and rotation of goods.
• Till operation and money handling.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills.
• Availability to work across a flexible rota from Monday to Sunday, including late nights until 10:00pm.
• Previous experience is desirable but not essential if you are willing to learn and are passionate about ongoing learning and development.
