NSG Environmental Ltd has been delivering work programmes in the nuclear industry for over 40 years. Traditionally in the areas of decommissioning and waste management, NSG now has a broad customer base and provides a wide spectrum of services across the nuclear project lifecycle, ranging from expert consultancy support, R&D and engineering design to rekit and refurbishment, site installation services and high-hazard physical decommissioning works, amongst others.

This work is delivered at NSG's own offices and purpose-built facilities and nuclear sites across the UK. The delivery and management of these projects and programmes of work is carried out by a skilled workforce composed of both white-collar and blue-collar personnel in technical, administrative, and physical roles.

The Role

Senior planner will report to Lead planner and senior stakeholders across the business. The role requires a high level of technical ability along with strong communication skills.

This individual should have leadership experience with the ability to train junior planners. Candidates need to have a clear understanding of baseline management, change control implementation and an understanding of NEC 3 and 4 contracts.

Candidates need to be able to produce and explain period end performance reports for each project, including EVM or similar performance measurements. Above all else, candidates must demonstrate behaviours in line with NSG's core values.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Project planning related qualification or 3 years industry experience- Essential
  • Membership of appropriate technical / professional body- Desirable
  • Level 2 Health & Safety in the Workplace or equivalent- Relevant training will be provided if required

Experience & Knowledge

  • Design and engineering project experience- Essential
  • Use of Microsoft Project and Primavera- Essential
  • Previous experience in the nuclear industry- Desirable
  • Broad working knowledge of contract management functions and relevant legislation- Desirable
  • Familiar with structuring and presentation of own work- Desirable
  • Used to dealing with confidential and commercial information- Desirable
  • Familiar with QSHEW operating procedures and requirements etc.- Desirable

  • Competent user of MS Office- Essential
  • Able to organise and prioritise own work- Essential
  • Ability to have a flexible/ adaptable approach to work- Essential
  • Ability to work under pressure, retain accuracy and keep to tight deadlines- Essential
