Job summary

ASDA is seeking an IT Operations Centre Manager to lead 24/7 on-call and shift teams from the Leeds-based Command Centre. You will own real-time health, stability and performance of critical services and drive incident resolution, major incident management and 24/7 coverage.

The role requires strong ITIL knowledge, senior stakeholder communication, and supplier oversight, with the ability to operate under pressure during peak trading events. On-site only.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading 24/7 IT operations, NOC or Command Centre environments.
• Strong Major Incident Management experience, including as on-call/on-shift MIM.
• Deep understanding of ITIL 4 practices — Incident, Problem, Change Enablement, Monitoring & Event Management, and Service Continuity.
• Comfortable with high-pressure decision-making under ambiguity and time constraints.
• Excellent communication skills — able to switch between technical detail and executive summary.

Responsibilities

• Act as the on-shift major incident manager, driving rapid restoration of service with partners.
• Lead shift on-call teams, monitoring analysts and incident responders.
• Chair shift stand-ups, define priorities and ensure timely handovers.
• Maintain real-time situational awareness across critical services, including overnight windows.
• Identify monitoring gaps and drive continual improvement.
