PATIENT CARE ADVISOR 37 hours FIXED TERM 12 MONTHS
ADMINISTRATIVE & CLERICAL Band 2
SALARY SCALE £25,694 to £27,900 PER ANNUM
Overview / Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at Links Medical Centre as we are currently seeking a Patient Care Advisor to provide a welcoming reception service in person and on the telephone.
Responsibilities
- Deal with the general public face to face and sometimes in challenging situations with a sympathetic approach and professional manner.
- Prioritise work with a good understanding of current computer systems.
- Respond to patient enquiries and provide relevant information relating to their appointments/services.
- Communicate with patients, other services and multidisciplinary teams, directing and prioritising queries to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Answer the practice telephones, listen to patient issues or medical problems, and signpost them according to practice policies and procedures.
- Provide secretarial and administrative support to the Primary Care Team, Practice Manager and Assistant Practice Manager.
- Engage in regular one-to-one support and annual appraisal with the Practice Manager or Assistant Practice Manager.
Requirements / Skills
- Team-player who is conscientious, flexible, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a sense of humour.
- Outstanding organisational skills, initiative, enthusiasm, flexibility, and self-motivation in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work within the practice opening hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm.
- Previous experience in Primary Care is preferred but not essential if you possess the relevant skills and have an active interest in a public-facing role within healthcare.
