Medical Receptionist / Admin Assistant

Part Time - 15 hours per week over 3 days

Danestone Medical Practice currently has a vacancy for a friendly, helpful and motivated

Medical Receptionist / Admin Assistant to join our busy team. Some flexibility in hours of work is required as different or additional hours may occasionally be required by mutual agreement to cover holidays/illness.

Hours of work will be 15 hours per week over 3 days and a combination of the following shifts: 7.45am 12.45pm / 1.00pm 6.00pm / 1.30pm 6.30pm

The Duties

  • Dealing with patient appointments - both at reception and on the phone
  • Registering and maintaining patient records
  • Dealing with patient queries (including requests for prescriptions, test results and general enquiries)
  • Using software (Emis, Docman, Email, eConsultations, Word, Excel, etc)
  • General administration
  • Any other duties which you may be asked to complete from time to time

  • Communicate well with others both patients and your colleagues
  • Respond quickly, efficiently and helpfully to all enquiries and requests
  • Ability to work in a fast paced busy environment
  • Take care when completing tasks to make sure that your work is accurate
  • Deal with and adapt to changing demands and priorities
  • Help and support all colleagues
  • Listen to others, ask the right questions and understand what you are being asked to do -

asking for help when you need it.

  • Deal well with difficult situations
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Have experience working within a similar medical or admin environment although comprehensive training will be given.
    Salary range is £25,694 £27,900 per annum based on 37.5 WTE, depending on experience.
    You will be eligible for membership of the NHS pension scheme.
