This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. South Cancer Research Network

The Edinburgh Cancer Centre at the Western General Hospital is a participating centre of the Scottish Cancer Research Network (SCRN), an organisation which aims to increase patient participation in cancer clinical trials throughout Scotland. The South East Scottish Cancer Research Network supports the provision of cancer clinical trials in a geographic area comprising the Health Board areas of NHS Lothian, NHS Fife, NHS Borders and NHS Dumfries and Galloway.
A vacancy has opened within the data management team for a full-time Clinical Trials Data Manager (AfC Band 5). The successful candidate will collaborate with existing data management staff and medical and nursing colleagues to facilitate the collection and reporting of high-quality clinical data for clinical trials, ensuring adherence to protocol requirements and recognised standards, such as ICH GCP. The role includes recording and reporting clinical data and closely liaising with clinical trial sponsors and coordinating centres to ensure that all aspects in the delivery of clinical trials comply with regulatory guidelines and sponsor requirements.
Educated to degree level or with relevant experience, the post-holder should have strong analytical and reporting skills with an ability to focus on detail. It would be advantageous to have previous experience of working in a clinical trial environment and knowledge of medical terminology. Strong inter-personal and communication skills are essential for the development of professional relationships across all clinical and non-clinical staff groups and departments involved in the running of clinical trials. The post-holder must be able to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in an ever-changing work environment including the ability to work on trials across a variety of cancer groups when required to meet departmental demand.
