Department of Sleep Medicine, NHS Lothian
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic individual to join our team working in Sleep Physiology.
The Department of Sleep Medicine based at the RIE is a tertiary referral centre for the diagnosis and treatment of all forms of sleep related breathing and neurological disorders.
Applicants for the Trainee post should already have a relevant degree (e.g. Physiology or similar) and will receive in service training within the Dept of Sleep Medicine, covering all aspects of sleep tests and assessments. The post holder will be required to complete the RPSGT or equivalent professional exam and gain PTP equivalence through the Academy of Healthcare Science (ACHS) as part of their training.
The post-holder will be self-motivated, innovative and capable of managing their own workload in an efficient and flexible manner. Applicants should be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development. The successful applicant will be required to work both day and night shifts. This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
