The Role
First level registered nurse. Working as an autonomous psychotherapy practitioner within a nurse led service, providing specialist assessment, formulation and psychotherapy treatment packages, for patients with complex mental health problems within an outpatient clinic setting.

Please note; this post may be considered as an annex 21 development post. The successful candidate would require to commit to undertake a postgraduate diploma in psychodynamic therapy as a condition of being offered the post. This will include attending personal therapy whilst in training.

What we'll need you to bring
Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration
Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
Management qualification or equivalent gained through experience and continuous professional development
Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
Effective time management skills
Working knowledge of basic information technology
Car driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA drivers licence
Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
It would be great if you also have
Evidence of formal training in a recognised (COSCA, UKCP & BACP) psychodynamic psychotherapy of 2 years and more
Group analytic psychotherapy training
Completion of NES generic supervision
Experience of working autonomously with a caseload of individual patients in a recognised therapeutic modality, providing assessment and treatment packages for patients with complex mental health problems
Demonstrable experience in the speciality working at Band 6 or above, with evidence of continued professional development
Evidence of participating in and/or facilitating clinical supervision/reflective practice
Experience of working in a community setting
Experience working autonomously providing individual & group therapy in a recognised therapeutic modality
Experience Working In a Psychotherapy Department
Knowledge of clinical audit as applied to psychotherapy
Evidence of a working knowledge of psychodynamic / analytic psychotherapy
Ability to work flexibly and to prioritise workload and delegate appropriately
and adapt to meet person-centred care without direct supervision
Effective listening and interpersonal skills and evidence of ability to communicate in stressful situations
Ability to form therapeutic professional relationships and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
Computer literacy to enable maintaining communication as per local clinical electronic systems, eg Trackcare, Outlook email etc

The working pattern for this role Mon-Fri; 9:00-5:00
