Job description

Job Purpose

To obtain blood samples from patients by venepuncture, ensuring patient and personal safety by adhering to Divisional Protocols, Policies, Procedures, and relevant Health and Safety legislation. To ensure correct labeling of blood samples for laboratory testing.

To provide cover in the absence of nursing/medical staff to ensure collections are taken.

This position requires PVG Scheme membership/record. If not currently a PVG member for the required regulatory group (child and/or adult), an application must be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before starting.
