Band 6 Emergency Department Deputy Charge Nurse

Two exciting opportunities have arisen within our Band 6 Deputy Charge Nurse Team in the Emergency Department at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. The role involves assessing care needs, evaluating care plans, and ensuring high-quality patient care. In the absence of a Senior Charge Nurse, the post holder will manage the department, supervise staff, and ensure service delivery.

The post holder is responsible for clinical and staff governance, providing leadership, supporting staff development, and functioning effectively under pressure. Advanced clinical expertise, experience in emergency nursing or relevant specialties, and willingness to participate in research and audits are essential.

Hours: 37 hours per week, rotational shifts including days and nights (12.5-hour shifts).

This role requires PVG Scheme membership. If not currently a member, an application must be made and deemed satisfactory before starting.
