Band 6, Specialist Physiotherapist, 24 hrs

Base: Astley Ainslie Hospital

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Multidisciplinary Community Respiratory Team in Edinburgh. The team provides admission prevention for severe COPD patients and supports early discharge and long-term management. The post holder will work with the Community Respiratory Team Clinical Lead, alongside Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners, Specialist Physiotherapists, and Support Workers.

The team collaborates with primary and secondary care, including Respiratory Consultants, GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Psychologists, Pharmacists, and the Scottish Ambulance Service. Partnerships with third sector organizations like Grapevine and Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland are also integral.

Applicants must demonstrate senior experience in respiratory physiotherapy, with specialist knowledge relevant to COPD care. Ability to manage an independent caseload, problem-solve within the MDT, and experience in supervision, mentorship, and teaching are essential. Involvement in Quality Improvement projects is encouraged.

Applicants must hold valid HCPC Registration.
