An exciting fixed-term opportunity has arisen for an advanced clinical pharmacist with excellent leadership and clinical skills to provide professional leadership to the mental health pharmacy team within West Lothian HSCP. The post will be based at St John’s Hospital (SJH), working across various mental health specialties, including adult and older people's mental health. This role involves service delivery, development, transfer of care, and community-based services like clozapine clinics and mental health teams.
The NHS Lothian Primary Care Pharmacy and Medicines Service is undergoing transformation and integration, with around 100 pharmacy staff providing care across practices and hubs in Lothian. We prioritize partnership working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care.
We seek a pharmacist with substantial clinical experience, preferably with mental health expertise, and a proactive approach to service development. Leadership, communication, and staff management skills are essential. The role requires Enhanced PVG Scheme Membership.
Candidates must have a Master of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent, be registered with the GPhC, and annotated as an independent prescriber. A postgraduate Clinical Diploma or Masters in Clinical Pharmacy is essential, or candidates must demonstrate engagement with the RPS Core Advanced Curriculum, participation in practice networks, and completion of relevant assessments.
