Clinical Psychologist Band 8A: 2.8 WTE CMHT
Permanent posts (part time or full time)
This is an exciting opportunity for Clinical Psychologists who are interested in working with patients presenting with severe and complex mental health problems. We have a number of posts available within the four Edinburgh community mental health teams (CMHTs). Psychology is well established within the teams and you will be based within the CMHT and work closely with your multidisciplinary colleagues.
You will be involved in providing a highly specialist CMHT Psychology service which involves the assessment, formulation and application of psychological models and associated therapies. In addition to the provision of individual and group therapies, you will be required to provide support to the multidisciplinary staff team through shared assessments, psychological formulation, reflective practice, and consultancy. Teaching and training for the CMHT generally will also be expected as part of the role. The post holders will additionally be expected to engage in audit and research activity.
There is a strong commitment to the professional development of staff within the service and you will be part of the Psychosis and Complex Mental Health Psychology Service and the wider Lothian Psychology Service.
The Lothian Psychology service hosts trainees from a range of universities including Edinburgh University.
We would be delighted to receive enquiries/applications from applicants who are already qualified or who may be completing clinical training over this year and who may wish to work part or full time.
