We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to join NHS Dumfries and Galloway’s Acute & Diagnostic Administration Services Team as a Clerical Officer / Audio Typist. The post holder will transcribe from digital dictation, letters, reports, and discharge summaries for patients from outpatient clinics, patients discharged from wards, and other outpatient appointments and will maintain patient records. Other duties also include dealing with incoming calls, mail, scanning, and electronic filing of patient information ensuring electronic files for all patient reports, letters, and general correspondence are up to date and available to the clinical team for decision/support maximizing effective use of time.
Based within both Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary (DGRI) and Mountainhall Treatment Centre (MHTC), the post holder will fulfil a crucial role in providing administrative and clerical support liaising and working with allocated multi-discipline clinical teams and administration colleagues. The successful candidate should be a team player with a flexible ‘can do’ attitude as they will assist in a variety of areas depending on service level objectives. Other attributes which we would be looking for the successful candidate to demonstrate on their application form and at interview are good communication and organization skills with attention to detail, self-motivation, enthusiasm, and commitment.
This post will be supported by Colleagues / Team Leader / Administration Services Co-ordinator / Administration Services Manager.
This post is on a fixed term basis (23 months) from the date of start.
As a typing/audio test and a scenario will require to be undertaken at interview, you will need to be able to attend in person; we cannot offer interviews via Teams.
