Job description

Role title: Graduate Minerals Surveyor (September 2027 start)

Salary: £27,000 and £1,000 sign on bonus

Locations: Leeds, Petworth

Working out of offices in Leeds, Cambridge and Petworth, the Savills Minerals & Waste Management team is one of the largest specialist teams of its kind in the UK and operates on a national basis, providing specialist advice to landowners, mineral operators, waste management companies, developers and institutional clients.

Our services cover the full lifecycle of mineral and waste assets, including acquisitions and disposals, valuations, lease negotiations, estate management and a wide range of consultancy services.

Although based out of three principal offices, the team of nine professionals work collaboratively as a single national department. The team comprises multiple directors, associates, and graduates/apprentices.

As a graduate in the Minerals & Waste Management team, you will undertake training towards your APC through the RICS Minerals & Waste Management pathway and gain first‑hand exposure to the full range of work undertaken by the team. Your development will be supported by working alongside experienced professionals with extensive sector knowledge, while also being given genuine responsibility from an early stage and becoming an integral part of the wider team.

The role will involve a mixture of site‑based and office‑based work. This will include inspecting active quarries and waste management facilities, meeting with landowners and operators, undertaking due diligence enquiries, reviewing planning permissions and tenure documentation, and preparing valuations, reports and client advice.

The role will require travel across the UK and Ireland, including occasional overnight stays.
