Thales is recruiting an apprentice to join our Hardware Engineering team in the United Kingdom. You will work towards a Level 6 Electro-Mechanical Engineering Degree Apprenticeship with the University of Nottingham over 5.5 years, combining on-campus learning, online study, and practical work-based learning.
The programme lasts 5.5 years and includes a fully funded BEng (Hons) in Electro-Mechanical Engineering upon completion, with a government-approved security clearance process applicable.
We're currently recruiting an apprentice to join our Hardware Engineering team, while also completing an Electro-Mechanical Engineering Degree Apprenticeship. It's a fantastic opportunity to grow, as well as develop your skills. This exciting Hardware Apprentice role will develop your skills by the designing and implementation of the engineering solutions in accordance with programme and product requirements. Typical tasks will range from requirements management via the design and development cycle, to test, integration and validation of complex products and systems.
Through our degree apprenticeship you'll be making the most of your talents, getting to understand engineering from the ground up; and doing so with the help of one of the biggest and best names in the industry. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are motivated, committed and keen to learn. A self-starter who can manage their time, show initiative and have a genuine interest in engineering and Thales. Successful candidates will show self-discipline and an aspiration to achieve a degree qualification.
You'll work towards a Level 6 Electro-Mechanical Engineering Degree Apprenticeship with the University of Nottingham while gaining valuable hands‑on experience in the workplace. The programme lasts 5.5 years and combines:

Please note that applicants who already hold a relevant degree will not be eligible for this programme.
To be considered for this position, you must have the permanent right to work in the UK and be able to successfully complete and maintain UK Government security checks, including Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) screening and Security Clearance (SC), which is a government background check, before starting employment. To be eligible for SC clearance, you will typically need to have lived in the UK continuously for the last five years. As part of the vetting process, you will be asked to provide evidence of your identity, right to work in the UK, any time spent overseas during the last five years, and your employment and/or education history.
