Job summary

AIG in the United Kingdom invites applications for a Claims Graduate. You will join the Early Career Programme in Croydon to develop knowledge of the insurance industry, work with the Recoveries team to pursue third-party recovery opportunities, and learn through on‑the‑job experience and masterclasses.

From day one you will engage with senior leaders, mentorship circles, and volunteering, with a view to building lasting relationships while completing a recognised qualification in Insurance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree to be received no later than July 2027.
• Previous work or volunteering experience in any industry or sector.
• Evidence of extra-curricular activities.
• A team player with strong communication and relationship building skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Motivated, proactive, and accountable.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the Recoveries team to pursue recovery / subrogation opportunities to maximise revenue received from liable third parties
• Review claim files to determine if successful recovery is feasible including investigations and evaluation of liability issues and the proactive follow up with all relevant parties.
• Telephone negotiation with third parties to establish/negotiate liability and quantum decisions within agreed handling authority, across all lines of business
• Document and articulate reasons for the agreed decision, including relevant case law and economic considerations.
• Be aware of and protect AIG and customers’ interests, including handling conflicts of interest and anticipating and raising awareness of issues that may impact the business.
• Be flexible within your role and to support all areas of the team and the business.
• Work within agreed standards, limitations and authorities and comply with regulatory and risk management responsibilities
