Checks & eligibility

• Enhanced DBS check
• Right to work in the UK
• Civil Service nationality requirements
• Aged 18 or over at the start of employment
• Three years' UK residence to work in a category A high security prison

• Pass a medical and fitness assessment
• Meet the eyesight standard in both eyes, with or without corrective lenses
• Suitable hearing without hearing aids
• Tattoos not offensive, discriminatory, violent or intimidating; facial tattoos generally not acceptable
• Willingness to work various shifts and some weekends

Nice to have

• Driving licence and own transport, beneficial given some rural locations but not essential
