Ministry of Justice is recruiting prison officers for HMP Bullingdon. The role involves maintaining order and safety, building professional relationships with prisoners, and switching between roles as peacekeeper, counsellor or teacher. You will work as part of a team with rotating shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays.

Checks & eligibility

• Aged 18 or over at the start of employment
• Meet the Civil Service nationality requirements and hold the right to work in the UK
• Pass a medical and fitness assessment, including eyesight, hearing and blood pressure checks
• Eyesight meeting the standard in both eyes, with or without corrective lenses
• Suitable hearing without hearing aids

• Tattoos acceptable only if not offensive, discriminatory, violent or intimidating; facial tattoos generally not acceptable
