Job Description

We manage and deliver designs for major below ground civil projects and are recognised as authoritative and innovative in ground engineering. We specialise in all aspects of foundations, geotechnics, and tunnelling, contributing to some of the largest and most demanding structures in the world. Our outstanding team and expertise were acknowledged with the Consulting Firm of the Year award at the Ground Engineering Awards 2024.

Work will vary but you are likely to undertake the following type of work:

  1. Plan, procure, supervise and report on ground investigations to the requirements of EC7.
  2. Provide engineering geological input, and parameter derivation, to the design of foundations and substructures, slopes and assess stability, earthworks, and reinforced earth structures.
  3. Provide input to soil and rock mechanics analyses.
  4. Undertake budgeting and cost control.
  5. Prepare technical reports.

Candidate Specification

We are looking for committed and motivated graduates with a genuine passion and a desire to make a difference in the world. To be eligible for this opportunity, you will have less than 12 months relevant experience (excluding placements) and have a degree (obtained no earlier than 2023) in one of the following disciplines:

  • Geotechnical engineering
  • Soil mechanics

In your application, you should demonstrate your interest in the role and working at Mott MacDonald through relevant experience, such as studying relevant modules or previous work experience.

  • Ability to use your initiative to undertake tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail.
