You’ll have the opportunity to participate in our 9-day fortnight scheme, thriving community groups, varied social and networking events, and extensive professional and technical development schemes. We also offer an extensive benefits package, including private medical cover, electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme, stock options, and up to days of annual leave.

Whatever your ambitions or circumstances, our aim is to enable everyone to develop their knowledge, give their best, and enjoy what they do.

Why work for us?

  • You’ll be part of progressive and exciting projects, able to experience innovative schemes across all sectors.
  • You’ll advance your career, your way, thanks to our structured Career Paths framework.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for a proactive and curious individual who wants to build a career in project management and controls within the built environment. This Level 3 apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on some of the UK’s most complex and high-profile engineering and design consultancy projects.
You’ll be joining a team that plays a vital role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality—supporting project leaders with planning, scheduling, performance tracking, and financial coordination.
This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Is organised, reliable, and eager to learn.
  • Enjoys solving problems and working with data or spreadsheets.
  • Can follow structured processes but is also curious to understand the bigger picture.
  • Has a keen eye for detail and takes ownership of their work.
  • Communicates clearly and works well in a collaborative team environment.
  • Is comfortable using Microsoft Excel and open to learning project tools.
  • Is interested in the construction or engineering consultancy industry and wants to develop a career in project controls.

What might you be doing?

As a Project Controls Apprentice, you’ll be involved in a wide range of tasks that support the successful delivery of our projects. Your day-to-day work will vary depending on the projects you’re supporting, but could include:

  • Assisting with creating and maintaining project schedules and timelines.
  • Helping track budgets, costs, and resource plans using Excel and project management tools.
  • Supporting the production of reports on project performance (e.g. progress updates, cost forecasts).
  • Attending project meetings and capturing key actions or decisions.
  • Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and finance teams to gather and check data.
  • Learning how to identify risks or delays and help find solutions
  • Keeping documentation organised and helping ensure compliance with internal processes.
  • Helping to ensure project outputs meet internal and client requirements through structured processes and documentation.

Training

You will develop and enhance your project controls skills in a variety of applications, including scheduling, cost control, and risk management within multidisciplinary engineering projects. Additional learning support is provided in-house, and you will receive mentoring and supervision throughout your apprenticeship to ensure you gain both confidence and competence in your role.

You will receive study leave during term time to attend sessions with your training provider as you work towards your Level 3 Project Controls Technician Apprenticeship. This qualification provides a solid foundation for a career in project controls and can lead to further progression onto higher apprenticeships or related professional qualifications in project management or commercial disciplines.

The typical duration for this apprenticeship is months, depending on your prior experience and how quickly you develop the full range of competencies required for completion.

What do you need?

  • A minimum of a C grade in at least 5 GCSEs, including Maths and English.
  • Let us know of other relevant qualifications and industry experience.
  • You’ll be supported through a Level 3 apprenticeship qualification in project controls, gaining hands-on experience while studying with a recognised training provider.
