Qualifications

Job description

We aim to set the standard for sports education that inspires young people to succeed and helps current and future sports professionals unlock their potential. We teach, motivate, and develop over 3,000 learners annually in real sports environments nationwide, supporting their career journeys.

Main Purpose of Position

To enable learners, through guidance and support, to achieve their aspirations and academic goals by supporting classroom learning and collaborating with teaching colleagues. To deliver effective teaching strategies, support independent learning, and evidence progression against targets set in collaboration with learners and colleagues. To contribute to EHCP Annual Reviews where applicable, ensuring educational outcomes are addressed.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Deliver engaging and creative learning tailored to learners' needs, including remote, classroom, one-to-one, or on-site sessions.
  2. Support learners in evidencing progression to meet or exceed their goals.
  3. Motivate and enable learners through collaborative and creative teaching techniques.
  4. Create support plans considering individual needs, assessments, and evidence of need.
  5. Provide wellbeing and pastoral support to enhance engagement and achievement.
  6. Maintain high standards of performance and quality.
  7. Develop tailored resources to support learning.
  8. Engage with internal and external professionals to provide learner support.
  9. Document funding utilization accurately.
  10. Collaborate with delivery teams to support timely achievement of learning programs.
  11. Monitor learner welfare, health, and safety, and promote safeguarding, British Values, Prevent, and Equality and Diversity.
  12. Participate in CPD activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  13. Travel occasionally to meet learner and business needs.
  14. Uphold SCL group values consistently.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Good general education, including English and Maths at Grade C or above, or willingness to work towards Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths.
  • Experience working with learners with SEND.
  • IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and Teams.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and targets.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding in Post 16 education.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice 2021.
  • Understanding of EHC Plans and the Annual Review process.
  • Teacher/Trainer qualification (Level 3) or willingness to work towards it.
  • Relevant SEND/Disabilities qualifications or CPD.
  • Post-16 sector experience.
