An exciting opportunity has arisen for a forward-thinking and dynamic Senior Immunisation Nurse Specialist to join our Public Health Division within NHS Lothian. We seek an individual committed to embedding public health principles into local immunisation programs, addressing inequalities, and increasing vaccination uptake across NHS Lothian.

The post-holder will be part of the Public Health Immunisation Team, providing specialist immunisation advice on complex clinical cases, responding to clinical queries, complaints, and supporting adverse incident management.

They will act as a key liaison between clinical staff and management, providing leadership, support, and expert guidance to ensure safe, high-quality immunisation programs. The role involves collaboration with various professionals, community groups, and national partners.

The candidate should have clinical expertise, strong communication skills, and a passion for public health leadership in immunisation programs within an evolving landscape.

Line management responsibilities include supervising the Immunisation Nurse Specialist.

The main office is currently at Waverly Gate, moving to West Port. NHS Lothian supports an agile working model, combining remote and on-site work, with flexibility across locations.

The Public Health and Health Policy department aims to improve health in Lothian through a whole-system approach, organized into Population Health, Healthcare Public Health, and Health Protection.
