2 x Part-time Receptionists at GP Practice- St Thomas Medical Group

St Thomas Medical Group is the 2nd largest practice in Devon, forward thinking, innovative and outward-facing, looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and motivated individual to help us diversify the workforce of our organisation.

With an excellent, supportive team of GPs, Clinical, Allied Health Care professionals, Administrative and Reception staff operating out of purpose-built surgeries.

We have 11 Partners, 35 Salaried GPs, 24 Nurses, 6 ANPs, 4 Paramedics, Social Prescribers, First Contact Physios and are looking for the right candidate to further enhance this team.

Due to the Promotion of 2 Receptionists into our scheduling team we now have 2 part-time reception posts available.

One Post is Monday and Wednesday 8.30am-5pm/6.30pm -one of the days will be a late finish.

One Post in Tuesday and Friday 8.30am-5pm/6.30pm -one of the days will be a late finish.

Main duties of the job

This is a busy and varied post needing excellentcommunication skills, ability to work under pressure and the confidence tointeract with patients and clinical staff.The successful candidate will need to possess excellent communicationand listening skills and the ability to prioritise work. Dealing with patients, medical information, astrict understanding of patient confidentiality is an essential part of therole.

Duties to include

Covering of the Reception Deskand dealing with the general public

Monitoring of email accountsreceived from patients and clinicians

Answering of telephone queries andcalling out to patients

Working as part of a team toprovide admin support to all clinicians and other members of staff

Handling requests forinformation from outside agencies.

From time to time you may be required to work from othersurgeries within St Thomas Medical Group.
