Trial Balance Consulting is pleased to have formed an exclusive recruitment partnership with a highly reputable, fast-growing, and modern law firm seeking to recruit several staff members for their recently restructured finance team. The firm aims to hire two Assistant Accountants / Legal Cashiers.

* Previous experience within a law firm or knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules is desirable but not required *

Reporting to and working closely with an experienced and friendly Director of Finance, these roles will be integral to the firm's accounting department, liaising with partners, colleagues, clients, suppliers, and external stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Cashier aiming to transition to a larger firm, or an Assistant Accountant seeking experience in a modern professional services environment. Key responsibilities include:

1. Administer online banking transactions and record using accounting software
2. Process BACS, CHAPS, and transfers in multiple currencies
3. Perform daily reconciliations on multiple accounts including client accounts
4. Record accounts payable and receivable transactions, including card payments
5. Amend and create standing orders
6. Maintain and improve accounting systems and processes
7. Manage general accounting functions: sales and purchase ledger, credit control, management accounts, variance reports, bank reconciliations
8. Handle statutory reporting: VAT, corporate tax, payroll data
9. Present financial summaries to senior management
10. Assist with annual audit preparations
