Job summary

AP Education in Daventry is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 2:1 support for learners with complex needs, including SEMH, autism, and other conditions.

You will work alongside a Tutor with students from Early Years to KS4, preparing learning materials and applying positive behaviour strategies.

The role offers term-time hours, up to 15-30 per week, with weekly pay and opportunities to liaise with external professionals as part of a multi-agency approach.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supporting children with SEND/SEMH requirements.
• HLTA certification preferred; two years UK experience acceptable without qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face 2:1 support with learners from Early Years to KS4.
• Assist in preparing learning materials for core subjects and SEND-specific tasks.
• Use positive behaviour strategies and patient approaches.
• Write daily/weekly progress reports and liaise with external professionals when needed.
• Manage attendance reporting and support transitions to mainstream or specialist education.
