Relaunched through a partnership with Manchester City FC, MCWFC entered the FA Women’s Super League and turned professional in 2014. The team has achieved success in the FAWSL, Women’s FA Cup, and Continental Tyres League Cup, and regularly competes in the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

The team plays at Joie Stadium, a 7,000-capacity arena on the Etihad Campus, which includes the City Football Academy, a state-of-the-art training facility for its women’s, men’s, and academy teams.

Manchester City Women aims to be the best women’s sporting organization globally. To achieve this, we are recruiting a 1st Team Goalkeeping Coach with the following responsibilities:

  • Shape the environment and development of goalkeepers to enable them to perform at their best.
  • Collaborate with the Head Coach and MDT to plan, deliver, and review world-class goalkeeping training aligned with the team’s style and game model.
  • Maximize the technical and tactical development of the team, units, and individual players according to their Development Plans.
  • Support talent identification to build a winning team with top goalkeepers.

Your Impact

Training Session Planning and Delivery:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive goalkeeping training plans in collaboration with coaching staff and MDT.
  • Deliver engaging training sessions that challenge and develop players’ skills.
  • Coordinate with performance analysts to plan and review set-piece practices for maximum impact.
  • Work with the Individual Development Coach to align training with individual goals.

Training and Match Review:

  • Review training and matches with coaching staff and MDT to improve goalkeeping performance.
  • Work with performance analysts within the WITTW framework to enhance team and individual performance.

Learning and Development:

  • Contribute to an outstanding learning environment for players and coaches, bringing innovative ideas and a growth mindset.
  • Continuously develop your coaching methods.

Communication, Building Relationships and Leading:

  • Build strong relationships with players and staff, inspiring and motivating them.
  • Promote professional standards and a positive team environment.
  • Participate actively in meetings, contributing professionally to a high-performance environment.

Talent Identification and Development:

  • Observe and identify talented goalkeepers during training and matches.
  • Collaborate with academy staff to develop talented goalkeepers for promotion to the first team.
  • Oversee the development of goalkeepers on loan.
