Job summary

DX Freight in Stanmore, Greater London, is recruiting an 18t Driver to deliver customers' products on a multi-drop route with a strong focus on safety and customer service.

You will load duties, complete paperwork, follow DX procedures, and represent the company professionally while building rapport with customers on a daily basis.

A valid C1+ license with DQC and Tacho, up to 6 points, and a proven commitment to service are essential; the role offers regular hours and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must hold C1 or above on license with valid DQC and Tacho card.
• Maximum of 6 points on license and no bans.
• Takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service.
• Ability to build a rapport with customers.

Responsibilities

• Represent DX and the customer in a professional manner at all times.
• Drive vehicles in a safe and legal manner ensuring compliance with all legal and company requirements at all times.
• Undertake all daily vehicle checks, report defects immediately, and complete correct paperwork.
• Ensure all products are scanned using DX scanning equipment.
• Load deliveries safely prior to leaving the depot.
• Observe DX procedures and policies at all times.
• Manage routing to ensure premium and timed deliveries are achieved.
• Ensure all equipment and PPE are in good order and used at all times.
• Report delivery and on-road issues immediately to the traffic office.
• Ensure customer deliveries are received in excellent condition every time.
• Handle customer issues politely and effectively.
• Make collections in line with instructions and times.

Role Summary

To deliver customers' products to the required premises ensuring all customers receive exceptional customer service as part of a multi-drop delivery route. This is an exciting opportunity to join the team supporting a logistics contract of the leading UK manufacturer of rollers shutter doors SWS.

The driver will ensure that all products are transported safely to the customers' premises, treating their freight as if it were their own. The role includes a physical and manual element, handling bulk items and components.

Along with a team of dedicated drivers already in place, you will load the vehicles in the morning onto multiple delivery vehicles and then proceed with completing deliveries. Politeness and customer service are essential elements to this role, as communication with delivery customers will be a crucial part of the daily activities. You will build rapport with customers as they take on regular deliveries and become familiar faces within your delivery routine.
