Job description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Diesel Fitter mainly workshop based with some field work. You will be required to undertake diagnostic, repair and maintain diesel engines and related mechanical parts. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment. The role is a permanent role based locally in the Ipswich area attracting a company vehicle and opportunity for overtime on top of salary. You will need to show an ability to work as part of a team, work safely and efficiently and be flexible fixing a wide range of varying issues from day to day.

Experience on earthmoving equipment will be highly regarded and you should also demonstrate:

1. Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade)
2. Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and mechanical components
3. Experience in dismantling, repairing or rebuilding, assembling and installing earthmoving machinery.
4. HR Truck licence (desirable)
5. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
6. Proficiency in using machining tools such as lathes and milling machines
7. Your own tool set and transport.
8. Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
9. Contactable references from past supervisors
