Job summary

Invictus Group is seeking a Head of Projects to lead a regional portfolio of M&E and building services projects across the Midlands and North West. The role combines senior leadership with hands-on delivery oversight, regional travel and hybrid working.

You will manage multi-disciplinary project teams, control P&L, forecast performance and ensure projects meet contractual and safety requirements while building strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a senior project leadership role.
• Strong FM/Hard FM, M&E or Building Services background.
• Experience managing multiple projects and leading teams of Project Managers.
• Commercial awareness including P&L management, budgeting and forecasting.
• Project management qualifications such as PRINCE2/APM advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the delivery of multiple M&E, building services, lifecycle and refurbishment projects across a regional portfolio.
• Lead, manage and develop a team of Project Managers with consistent delivery standards.
• Manage project budgets, P&L, forecasting and commercial reporting.
• Manage projects from tender and pre-construction through to completion, handover and final accounts.
• Build and maintain strong client, stakeholder, subcontractor and internal relationships.
• Ensure all projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget per contractual requirements.
• Identify new business opportunities and additional works within existing FM contracts.
• Oversee procurement, subcontractor management, resource planning and project risk management.
• Collaborate with senior leadership, operations and commercial teams to drive growth.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, standards and company procedures.

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Projects to join a leading Facilities Management service provider, overseeing the delivery of projects across a portfolio of commercial and operational sites throughout the Midlands and North West.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading project teams, managing financial performance and ensuring the successful delivery of M&E, building services, lifecycle and refurbishment projects.

This is a senior leadership position offering hybrid working, with travel to client sites and regional offices as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the successful delivery of multiple M&E, building services, lifecycle and refurbishment projects across a regional portfolio.
• Lead, manage and develop a team of Project Managers, ensuring consistent delivery standards and operational performance.
• Take full responsibility for project budgets, P&L performance, forecasting, commercial reporting and profitability.
• Manage projects from initial tender and pre-construction stages through to completion, handover and final account.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, subcontractors and internal management teams.
• Ensure all projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Identify new business opportunities, additional works and project opportunities within existing FM contracts.
• Oversee procurement, subcontractor management, resource planning and project risk management.
• Work closely with senior leadership, operational teams and commercial departments to support business growth.
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, industry standards and company procedures.

Experience & Qualifications

• Proven experience in a senior project leadership role, ideally as a Head of Projects, Projects Director, Senior Project Manager or Regional Projects Manager.
• Strong background within Facilities Management, Hard FM, M&E or Building Services.
• Demonstrable experience managing multiple projects and leading teams of Project Managers.
• Strong commercial awareness, including P&L management, budgeting, forecasting and contract administration.
• Experience delivering M&E installations, plant replacements, lifecycle works, refurbishments and capital projects.
• Excellent client relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Relevant technical qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Building Services or Construction Management desirable.
• Project management qualifications such as PRINCE2, APM or equivalent advantageous.
