Overview

We are looking to recruit an experienced Personal Health Care Assistant to support a young man in his late teens who is developmentally younger than his chronological age. He loves singing and music, dancing and fairground rides and lives with family in the CT6 postcode area for half the week and the CT9 postcode area for half the week. Support is needed with getting up, bathing, meal preparation and feeding, as well as healthcare tasks such as seizure management, administering medication, and PEG feeding. Assistance is also required in the community to access activities such as swimming, bowling and the cinema. This role is working for an individual employer using NHS funds and not working for the NHS.

Responsibilities
  • Support with daily living activities: getting up, bathing, meal preparation and feeding.
  • Healthcare tasks: seizure management, administering medication, and PEG feeding as required.
  • Assist in the community to access activities such as swimming, bowling and the cinema.
  • Provide compassionate, patient, and empathetic care to the individual.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Commitment, patience, kindness and empathy; genuine interest in working in the care sector.
  • Right to live and work in the UK (sponsorship not available).
  • Current driving licence and ability to drive an automatic car.
  • Two references and an Enhanced DBS Check; Safeguarding training (online) required.

Hours and Benefits
  • Hours: various, weekends, school holidays and after school.
