Grade UE07: £41,064 to £48,822 per annum (pro rata if part time). College of Medicine & Veterinary Medicine / Research Governance Office. Full-time: 35 hours per week (part-time may be considered). Open ended (permanent) contract.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Global Health Clinical Research Facilitator to join our Research Governance team.

Role and responsibilities

This is a rare and exciting opportunity to work within ACCORD, the University of Edinburgh and NHS Lothian’s joint research office. As part of the Research Governance team, you will play a key role in supporting the University’s responsibilities as a Sponsor of global health clinical research. You will act as a central point of expertise, liaising with researchers, overseas collaborators, funders, and regulatory agencies to ensure that international clinical research is designed, initiated, and delivered to the highest standards. This role will enable you to contribute to the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of research that has global impact, while helping to safeguard the University’s legal and ethical obligations.

Requirements / Skills and attributes
  • Degree in a life sciences discipline, with substantial experience in clinical research
  • Strong knowledge of UK and international clinical research legislation, including GCP, clinical trials regulations, and research governance frameworks
  • Experience of supporting or coordinating ethics and regulatory applications, with an ability to interpret complex legislative requirements in a research setting
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and team-working skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships across diverse stakeholders, including overseas partners
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, manage risk, and problem-solve in a dynamic research environment
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work independently, while contributing to the wider aims of the Research Governance team
