Location - Hinckley

Salary: Highly competitive per shift depending on location, skills, and experience with company bonus, benefits, and overtime opportunity.

General hours of work are 48 hours per week with overtime opportunity. Hours and shift patterns tend to fall on days; however, you may also be required to work evenings, nights, and weekends. You will also be on-call especially if you have the use of a company van.

Who is Chevron Traffic Management?

Chevron Traffic Management sets up temporary road or lane closures, diversion routes, or pedestrian walkways to keep road workers and users safe during roadworks. This involves installing cones, signage, temporary traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, and barriers. Our work is visible across the country. When you see roadworks, it’s possible Chevron Traffic Management installed the signage.

Our work also involves consulting, planning, designing, estimating, liaising with suppliers and customers, and using innovation and technology to improve safety and reduce our carbon footprint.

Responsibilities:

The 12d or Unit 2 Traffic Management Operative:

  • Undertakes traffic counts, contacts clients and subcontractors, manages timings, and reports near misses.
  • Maintains temporary traffic lights.
  • Installs, maintains, and removes traffic management equipment like cones, signs, frames, and sandbags.
  • Helps and guides new trainees.
Qualifications:
  • SLG Unit 2 or M1/M2 qualified at minimum.
  • 12d Lantra qualification is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Knowledge of Chapter 8.
  • Full driving license with no more than 6 points; bans must have been expired for at least 5 years.
  • Ability to pass a drug and alcohol test.
  • Adaptability, flexibility, meticulous attention to detail.
