Job summary

Job description

Grade UE06: £34,132 to £39,355 per annum pro rata.

CMVM / CardioVascular Sciences

Part-time: 17.5 hours per week

Fixed-term: 12 months



The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Research Technician with experience using both Drosophila and cell culture techniques. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge research programme focused on understanding the link between environmental pollutants and diabetes development. The post requires conducting experiments both in vivo (Drosophila) and in vitro, using primary and immortalised pancreatic β-cells, to determine the effects of exposure to chemicals from plastic pollution on whole body metabolism and β-cell function.


This post is fixed term (for 12 months) and part-time (17.5 hours per week) but we are open to considering flexible working patterns.
