Job description

GSL Education are currently recruiting Autism Specialist Teaching Assistants to work in mainstream primary schools. You will be working with students who have been identified as having moderate learning difficulties and autism on a 1:1 and small group basis. You will provide individualized interventions for the students in your care in addition to regular classroom support.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Participate in the oral and written evaluation, recording, and reporting of the child's development, progress, and accomplishments.
  2. As requested by management and fellow teachers, take part in school meetings that are pertinent to the child.
  3. Encourage the deployment of behavioral intervention programs for students with special needs, developmental delays, or autism that are 1:1 in nature.
  4. Collaborate with experts as needed to support the child.

The applicants must meet the following requirements for this particular role:

  1. Enhanced DBS Certificate or willing to complete one.
  2. Passionate about assisting young people with special needs.
  3. Possess a work visa for the UK.
  4. Strong commitment to safeguarding.
  5. Possess Exceptional Needs (SEN) expertise, preferably with a variety of additional needs, such as SEMH and severe learning challenges.
  6. Vivacious, charming, and assured in your approach to behavior management.
