12-Month Work Placement - Civil Engineer, Warrington

Our Intern & Placement programme offers hands-on insight into our work and helps develop skills within your chosen field. Supported by targeted training, the programme reflects Arcadis' core values, providing both technical training and personal and professional development. You will be involved in real projects and client interactions during your 10-12 week internship or 12-month placement.

Our civil engineering community covers sectors such as highways, rail, energy, and water management, with projects of various scales:

• Highways Engineer: Contributes to designing safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation systems and maintains road infrastructure quality.
• Water Management Engineer: Works on waste and clean water infrastructure, delivering sustainable solutions and ensuring resilience and quality of water supplies.
• Rail Engineer: Handles earthworks, drainage, and structures, supporting railway infrastructure with diverse materials.
• Energy Engineer: Supports clients with new connections and grid upgrades to meet UK's Net Zero goals.

Roles across sectors offer opportunities to develop skills in sustainable solutions, with site visits and inspections possible.

• Highways, Water, and Energy roles require a BEng or MEng in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Rail roles require an MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Currently working towards a relevant degree (Placement & Intern only).
• Demonstrates skills like resilience, creativity, analytical thinking, and teamwork.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders using technical knowledge.
• Willing to travel and stay away from home when needed (virtual working is embraced where possible).
