Job summary

Vets Now Referrals Glasgow is seeking enthusiastic applicants for an Internal Medicine and/or Oncology Discipline-Specific Internship (DSI) starting on 5th April 2027. This 12-month training position offers a split rotation between Internal Medicine and Oncology with close supervision and mentorship from experienced EBVS specialists and oncologists.

Qualifications

• Veterinary degree recognised by the RCVS.
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the RCVS.
• Eligibility to work in the UK (visa sponsorship possible).
• At least one year of small animal practice experience.
• Strong communication and English language skills.
• Interest in small animal Internal Medicine and/or Oncology.
• Proactive and collaborative attitude with patient and client care focus.
• Availability for a 1 in 6 weekend rota in OOH.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and manage Internal Medicine and Oncology cases with specialists.
• Participate in rotations or externships at other hospitals.
• Contribute to seminars, journal clubs, and teaching activities.
• Engage in clinical research and independent study.
• Maintain accurate medical records and high standards of care.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team environment.
