Job summary

targetjobs UK is seeking a motivated placement student to join the Enterprise Operations finance team for a 12-month Accounting and Finance placement starting from 21 June 2027. You will gain hands-on experience across journal entries, month-end close, bank reconciliations, payroll support, and internal billing, supporting day-to-day operations and financial reporting.

Based in Havant, this placement collaborates with IT Services, Payroll, HR and Global Financial Services, and offers exposure to

Qualifications

• Working towards degree in Accounting, or associated Finance / Business discipline
• Demonstrated experience or interest in accounting and finance
• Demonstrated experience performing analysis and interpreting data
• Attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Analysing accounting records & preparation of journal entries.
• Assisting with monthly accounting close process & US checklists
• Bank account monitoring & preperation of General ledger reconciliations.
• Supplying invoice & billing backup for recharges to Business Areas.
• Prepare Bank transfers & some ad hoc payments.
• Submittal of UK Payroll files into BACS
• Internal & External Audit support.
• Accurate recording of payroll, overheads, rents, pre-paids, liabilities and other expenses.
• Clearance of suspense accounts
• Maintain Internal Billing System details.
• Proactive and diligent support to other team members
• Ad hoc support to UK Travel, Accounts Payable & Payroll teams
