Job description

Overview

Regional Relief Qualified Pharmacy Assistant – Permanent Contract, 40 hours per week. The role covers all branches in region 16, which includes seven branches in Durham, Chester Le Street, Boldon Colliery, Sunderland, Ashington and Whitley Bay.

Usual working hours may range from 09:00 to 17:00 or 09:00 to 18:00. The position requires travel to various locations across the region on a regular basis. A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Dispense and label prescription items with guidance and supervision from the Pharmacist.
  • Assist with ordering and management of stock levels within the dispensary and the shop.
  • Work as part of a well-established team to ensure customers receive a high standard of service.
Qualifications and Skills
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Pharmacy Services is essential.
  • Skills in planning, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure are required.
  • Must have a driving licence and access to a vehicle suitable for business use; insurer confirmation may be required prior to interview.
  • Personal insurance must allow for business use; the company may contribute to the business aspect of insurance upon receipt of documentation showing any increased premium.

Additional Information

Reimbursement for business mileage is 40p per mile up to 10,000 miles, then 25p per mile per HMRC guidelines. Fuel receipts should be kept and mileage claims submitted weekly. The role offers opportunities to gain the Counter Course and NVQ Level 2 in Dispensing during the branch placement.
